skulls

Out of your skull?

Get into one of mine.

What is our fascination with these
archetypical symbols of dread? They
signify danger, magic, poison, death,
and the arcane. Are these fitting
images for the repository of human
intelligence?

Shouldn’t they be honored as the
tabernacles in which we cache our fears,
secrets, and shadowy desires . . . but
also our hopes, illuminations, and
the emotional triggers that launch
us on our wispy trails?
